The Step Team for Social Justice’s mission is to educate creatively and present before public audiences issues of major political, social, economic and spiritual concern that negatively affect the existence of peace, justice, love and equality.

In addition, the team seeks to provide opportunities for professional youth and young adult artists to have a voice in the shaping and building of a better world through performance and the utilization of their unique talents and gifts.

Celebrating the richness found in cultural diversity and providing opportunities for individuals to collaborate across lines of race, culture, and religion through performance tours, lecture demonstrations, arts-in-education workshops and the rehearsal process, The Global Youth Leadership Team (Step For Social Justice) is a unique group of skilled artists who bring to life the true meaning of “Social Justice” and “Human Rights.”

To date the team has performed at over 200 churches, community organizations and public events in 9 states and 2 countries.  They are also the proud winners of the 2004, 2005, and 2006 McDonalds Gospel Fests.

Lead by MMP Creative Director, Melvin Miller, this group of 12 professional steppers ranging in age from 16 to 26 performs traditional college steps that originate from the gumboot dance of Africa to promote themes of peace, justice, love and equality and incorporates music, song, spoken word and dance.  Take any theme you like, and this team can create a tapestry of movement, song and dance that leaves audiences crying, laughing, inspired and energized.
